Project Overview

Each year, the AKC oversees roughly 30,000 dog events. That's about 5x the number of games played across the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB combined!

Now imagine the time it takes to process 30,000 event applications across multiple dog sports, each with its own set of complex, unique rules.

Before this project, AKC staff had no centralized way to track those applications, leading to inefficiencies, delays, and missed tasks. As the designer, my goal was to fix this by creating a single, streamlined system for managing and improving visibility across thousands of event applications.

What I Did

  • Led UX discovery with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Mapped workflows and identified high-priority pain points.

  • Designed queue interactions: task display, sorting, and refresh options.

  • Created annotated prototypes for dev handoff.
